Greg Rand kicked a 41-yard field goal with 10:45 left in the game and UW-Oshkosh blocked a 44-yard Lake Bachar field goal attempt with 1:59 left as the No. 15 Titans took down No. 1 UW-Whitewater 10-7. The loss snaps the two-time defending champions' 36-game winning streak.
Oshkosh starting quarterback Brett Kasper left early in the game and Jayden Essman went 10-for-17 for 60 yards in relief. Dylan Hecker ran for 92 yards and the Titans' only touchdown.
It was a tough day to be a ranked team in the East Region on Saturday as well, as No. 14 Rowan, No. 18 Cortland State and No. 22 Hobart all fell in afternoon games, while Wittenberg and Chicago lost as well.
Salisbury saw its defense set the tone early, then scored 22 points in a flurry in the third quarter to take a 31-14 lead on No. 14 Rowan, and finally had to hold on down the stretch to knock off the Profs 31-28. Wit Marcelin scored with 6:13 left in the game to cut the Sea Gulls' lead to three, but Salisbury used its run game to run more than five minutes off the clock, leaving the Profs (4-1, 3-1 NJAC) less than a minute to work with. Marcelin ran 29 times for 190 yards and three scores, but Connon Canonico and Jerome Johnson matched that with a combined 199 yards on 27 carries for the Sea Gulls (3-1, 3-0).
Cortland State won its first five games, four of them by narrow margins, and the tightrope walk finally got the Red Dragons on Saturday. Buffalo State rallied from a 21-9 deficit to hand Cortland its first loss, 29-21. It's the fourth consecutive win for the Bengals in the series.

Matt Hunt threw for 336 yards and three touchdowns, with his younger brother Andy Hunt the primary recipient as DePauw knocked off No. 20 Wittenberg, 35-30, to improve to 5-0. The DePauw Tigers' 4-0 start came against some of the bottom teams in Division III, but they stepped up to the challenge on Saturday. DePauw had to hold on as Wittenberg challenged at the end, moving the ball into DePauw territory, facing a second-and-7 from the 28. But Zack Jenkins threw an incomplete pass on second down, was sacked for an 11-yard loss on third and Wittenberg turned the ball over on downs a play later.
Hobart led 13-0 at the half, but Springfield came out in the second half and scored the last 35 points to defeat the No. 22 Statesmen 35-13. The Pride rolled up 289 yards of total offense in the second half and held Hobart to 100 yards. Jake Eglintine ran for 123 yards and a touchdown and Keith Rodman added 121 yards and a score of his own.
Chicago's trip to the Top 25 seems destined to be short, as the No. 24 Maroons fell at home, picking up their first loss as a member of the SAA as Berry won at Stagg Field 24-17 in overtime. Dale Jackson found Trey Ciresi for an 11-yard touchdown pass to lift the Vikings to 5-1, 4-0 in the SAA.
On a day in which punter Kevin McClean had as many touchdown passes as punts, No. 3 Linfield rolled, and rolled some more in defeating Pacific 77-10. Sam Riddle threw for 266 yards and three touchdown passes in his two quarters of action and backup Tom Knecht looked sharp in the third quarter, while six Wildcats backs ran for between 24 and 53 yards, with five of them scoring touchdowns.
No. 2 Mount Union had no trouble with Ohio Northern, shutting the Polar Bears out for 59 minutes and 46 seconds in a 51-7 win. Three Purple Raiders rushed for more than 100 yards, including quarterback Taurice Scott. Logan Schrader became Wartburg's all-time passing leader, pushing past 7,600 career yards in a 31-14 win vs. Coe. Schrader was 24-for-37 passing for 251 yards and two scores in the win.
Jack Eddy, who took over late in the game last week for UW-Platteville, got the start at quarterback for the No. 12 Pioneers and threw for four touchdowns in a 30-27 win vs. UW-Stevens Point. The last one came with 6:14 left, a 4-yard pass to Russell Martin for the lead. THe Pioneers' Jason Flagg intercepted a Pointers pass three plays later and Platteville ran out the clock for the win.
No. 11 Thomas More got off to a slow start but found life on offense in the second half as the Saints defeated Geneva 44-14. Thomas More needed a 38-yard field goal from Tommy Budke with four seconds left in the first half in order to take a 9-7 lead into the locker room.
Hardin-Simmons returned to its traditional place at the top of the city of Abilene, Texas, as the No. 16 Cowboys defeated the no-longer-Indians 31-13 in the first meeting between the schools since 2011. Ryan Breton came off the bench in the second quarter to replace an injured Weston Garner and completed 17-of-22 passes for 301 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
