Four BW Football Players Named to D3football.com All-Region 4 Team

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Four Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes have been selected to the 2025 D3football.com All-Region 4 Team.

Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC linebacker Nolan Hartsel (Lodi/Northwestern) and senior All-OAC corner back Colin Kaufmann (Avon) were named to the first team. Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC running back George Linberger (Barberton/St. Vincent-St. Mary) was selected to the second team.  Junior All-OAC left guard Nick Lulow (Painesville/Riverside) landed on the third team. The four student-athletes now advance to the D3football.com All-America ballot, which will be announced on December 22.

Hartsel, who garners his first career honor, led the OAC in tackles with a career-high 96, including recording a career-best tying 19 in two games.  He was named the OAC Gene Slaughter Most Outstanding Linebacker Award winner as well being named to the All-OAC first team for the first time in his career.  Hartsel also recorded six tackles for a loss of 19 yards, three quarterback hurries, one sack, one interception and one pass breakup.   He was named the OAC Defensive Player of the Week on October 20 after his first 19 tackle performance in a victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.). For his career, Hartsel has appeared in 30 games and has tallied 161 tackles, including 17 for loss, 6.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception.  Off the field, he is an Academic All-OAC honoree, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team selection, Dean's List student and a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society.

Kaufmann, who earns his first career accolade, tied for second in the OAC with a career-high 10 pass breakups while recording 23 tackles, including one for a loss. He was named the OAC Co- Lee Tressel Most Outstanding Defensive Back Award winner as well being named to the All-OAC first team for the first time in his career. In two seasons in Berea, Kaufmann appeared in 19 games and recorded 45 tackles, including three for a loss, 20 pass breakups, two quarterback sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception that he returned for a touchdown in his very first game. 

Linberger, who garners his first career honor, was second in the OAC in touchdowns with a career-high 14 and third in the league in yards and attempts with career-bests of 1,133 and 187.  He was named to the All-OAC first team for the first time in his career. For his career, Linberger has rushed for 2,207 yards on 427 carries with 21 touchdowns.  Off the field, he is an Academic All-OAC honoree, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team selection and Dean's List student.

Lulow, who earns his first career accolade, appeared in and started in all 10 games at left guard.  He help guide the offense to rank second in the OAC in points-per-game (41.1), rushing yards-per-game (231.9) and total yards-per-game (438.9).  For his career, Lulow has appeared in 28 games.  Off the field, he is an Academic All-OAC honoree, College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team selection and Dean's List student.

BW finished the 2025 campaign with an overall record of 8-2 and an OAC slate of 6-2.
