AUSTIN, TX – Johns Hopkins placed three players on the 2023 College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA) NCAA Division III Academic All-America Football Team it was announced today.  This is the fourth consecutive year that the Blue Jays have produced at least three Academic All-Americans; during that time, a national-best 21 Johns Hopkins football players have been honored.

Senior Luke Schuermann (DL) and graduate student JR Woods (OL) are both making their third consecutive appearance on the team, while graduate student Josh Polce (WR) earns Academic All-America honors for the first time.  Schuermann was named to the first team, while Woods and Polce were second team selections.
 
With their selection this year, Schuermann and Woods join Ross Andersson as the only three-time Academic All-Americans in program history.
 
The three selections this season give Johns Hopkins 54 all-time Academic All-Americans in football, including 42 since 2011.  The 42 Academic All-Americans for the Blue Jays since 2011 are the most by any college football team in the nation during that time.  In addition, Johns Hopkins' 54 all-time Academic All-Americans rank 10^th all-time among all college football teams in all divisions.
