Warhawks Release 2015 Schedule

More news about: UW-Whitewater

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team has released its 2015 schedule.

The Warhawks' 2015 slate includes five games at Perkins Stadium on the UW-Whitewater campus. The program set a school and conference record last season against UW-Oshkosh, drawing 13,627 fans to the stadium. The team also led the nation in average attendance per game during the regular season.

The team's Homecoming game is scheduled for Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. against UW-Eau Claire.

Among the 10 scheduled contests, seven are against Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opponents, while the remaining three are against non-conference foes.

The Warhawks open the 2015 campaign on the road, taking on Belhaven (Miss.), an NAIA school, on Saturday, Sept. 12. Kickoff time is 1 p.m. The Blazers, who are a first-year provisional Division III member program, finished 2-9 a season ago and are a member of the Mid-South Conference.

UW-Whitewater opens its home portion of the schedule on Sept. 19 against Finlandia (Mich.), which will be competing in its inaugural season in 2015. Kickoff on Hall of Fame Day is scheduled for 1 p.m.

The Warhawks visit NAIA opponent Morningside (Iowa) on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m. The Mustangs finished 11-2 last fall, winning the Great Plains Athletic Conference championship and reaching the NAIA FCS semifinal.

UW-Whitewater welcomes UW-Platteville on Oct. 3 at 1 p.m. for its WIAC opener on Family and Alumni Day on campus.

After a contest at 2014 conference runner-up UW-Oshkosh on Oct. 10 at 1 p.m., the Warhawks return home on Friday, Oct. 16, against UW-La Crosse. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

UW-Whitewater visits UW-Stevens Point on Oct. 24 at 1 p.m., then hosts UW-Eau Claire on Homecoming Saturday at 1 p.m. one week later.

Following a game at UW-River Falls on Nov. 7 at 1 p.m., the Warhawks conclude the regular season on Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. by hosting UW-Stout on Shriners' and Senior Day at Perkins Stadium.

In 2014, UW-Whitewater claimed its ninth WIAC championship in 10 seasons and sixth NCAA Division III national championship in the last eight years. The Warhawks, who finished with a 15-0 record, will enter the 2015 season on a 32-game winning streak, the longest active run in all of college football.
